or the first time ever in any of our Shrine Clubs, Sons Of The Desert Shrine Club is very proud to announce that we will be starting our very own Martial Arts Division. As many of us are into Martial Arts and have been practitioners for decades, we decided this would be a great and fun addition to the parades, as well as our year end visit to the Shriners' Hospitals for Children to put on a show for everyone. Our Division will be spear-headed by none other than Sensei William Christopher Ford.

william ford kamasSensei William Christopher Ford is the Chief Instructor at Kaizen Dojo in Torrance, CA. Sensei Ford began his lifelong study of the martial arts in 1974 at the age of 7 (at the urging of his mother who is from Japan) in the Okinawan art of Shorin Ryu Karate-Do (Kobayashi Ryu) under the late Sensei Richard Rabago.

Sensei Ford comes to us as our first "Friend of the Shriner" participant, soon to be a member, who desired to join the miracle of the Shrine and do great things for our youth. He has already successfully completed many fund-raising events for St. Jude Hospitals for Children, as well being a role model and leader for our youth orders by way of his dojo.

William Christopher Ford aka Christopher Paul Ford is also an actor who played strong but silent Cobra Kai bad boy, "Dennis", in "The Karate Kid Part III". We are very excited to have Sensei Ford as the head of our Martial Arts Division and can't wait to see the division flourish under his leadership and creative ideas.
